Daniel Papaleo

“The inside reflects the outside” – Dharma.

Since my early years, I’ve been captivated by the presence of objects and their rootedness in space, as well as their ability to endure over time.

I use sculpture as a means of expressing emotions, shaping spaces that invite interaction and contemplation. In creating my works, I aim to incorporate multiple senses, thus enabling an inclusive and participatory experience.

ART

In my most recent projects, I have explored the incorporation of the human voice and the sound field as compositional elements. People can literally speak inside the sculpture, whose materials vibrate with each word, transforming sound into a tangible experience.

Así No

Perhaps one of Iommi’s mottos that best summarizes Daniel Papaleo’s operative program of “Así No” is the synthetic statute of the unconventional, of what necessarily must be rethought not only in the realm of aesthetics but in the broader world in which we live. Papaleo states, “I investigate through sculpture the everyday impressions and everything that catches my attention regarding mental patterns, limits, or the common agreement that defines one society in contrast to another.”

Fuego y Barro

Participation in the first edition of the performance “Fire and Mud.” An artistic performance carried out together with the audience, interpreting nature and the circle of life with the intention of expanding environmental awareness through the creation of ephemeral sculptural works using natural elements: mud, wood, grass, reeds, and sand.

Into the Organics - 2023, Pablo Bogdan Gallery, Los Angeles, Estados Unidos

Amaranto

Into the Organics features works by Ariel Vargassal, Park In Sook, Sabrina Merayo Nuñez, Ji Oh, Fernando Brizuela, Daniel Papaleo, Duilio Pierri, Jesús Dupaux, Walter Erra Hubert, Andrea Santarelli, Maggie de Koenigsberg, and Luchi Szerman.

The exhibition focuses on the diversity of life and ways of living. It is also a tribute to life in California, to a great blooming after long and heavy winter rains, to variety and abundance, to hope. Each artist in this show offers their own perspective and brings their own experiences to create a landscape of colors and heterogeneity, of beings and feelings.
